When used as directed, Stratamed dries to form a protective wound covering that is gas permeable and waterproof which hydrates and protects compromised skin areas and superficial wounds.
Stratamed can be applied to superficial wounds and compromised skin surfaces including those following laser treatments, chemical peels, dermal abrasion, surgical incision and excision, and 1st and 2nd degree burns.
Stratamed dries to form a thin, flexible, occlusive wound dressing which hydrates, covers and protects affected areas. Stratamed allows the exchange of gases such as oxygen and water vapor though the wound dressing.
Stratamed helps to promote a moist wound healing environment for superficial wounds and burns. Moist wound environments promote faster reepithelialization, relieve itching, burning and discomfort, reduce redness and swelling associated with insulted skin.
Because Stratamed is a gel, it is easily applied to large exposed surface areas and contoured skin, like the face, neck and chest. Stratamed can be used with or without a secondary protective dressing.
Stratamed was developed for use on all types of superficial wounds, burns, skin tears and abrasions including those resulting from:
- Laser therapy (ablative and nonablative), including tatoo removal
- Chemical peels
- Photodynamic therapy (PDT)
- Dermal abrasion and needling
- General and cosmetic surgery
- Burns (1st and 2nd degree)
- Trauma
- Bites
- Grazes and abrasions
- Cryosurgery
- Acne and other diseases of the skin
